Losing or switching your phone doesn't mean losing your crypto — as long as you have your 12-word recovery phrase (also called a seed phrase or secret phrase), you can restore your full Trust Wallet on any new device in a few minutes. This guide walks you through the exact steps, what to do afterward, and the security rules that keep your funds safe.

Before You Start: What You Need

- Your 12-word recovery phrase — written down in the exact order you saved it. This is the only thing that can restore your wallet. Without it, your funds cannot be recovered.
- A new phone with internet access.
- Download Trust Wallet only from official sources: the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Never download from a browser link, third-party site, or a message someone sends you.

> Important: Your recovery phrase is the master key to your wallet. Anyone who has it can take your funds. Never type it into a website, message it, or share it with anyone — Trust Wallet support will never ask for it.

Step-by-Step: Restore Trust Wallet on a New Phone

Step 1 — Install and open Trust Wallet

Download the official Trust Wallet app from the App Store or Google Play Store on your new phone, then open it.

Step 2 — Choose "I already have a wallet"

On the welcome/setup screen, do not tap "Create a New Wallet." Instead, select the option that says "I already have a wallet" (sometimes labeled "Import Wallet" or "Recover Wallet").

Step 3 — Select Multi-Coin Wallet

Choose Multi-Coin Wallet. This restores the standard Trust Wallet that holds all your coins and tokens on all networks. (Only pick a single specific chain, like Ethereum, if your original wallet was limited to one blockchain.)

Step 4 — Enter your 12-word recovery phrase

Type in your recovery phrase one word at a time, in the exact order you saved it. Check spelling carefully — a single wrong word, an extra space, or words out of order will fail the verification.

Step 5 — Tap Restore / Confirm

After the phrase is verified, Trust Wallet will confirm that your wallet has been imported. Set a new password/PIN for this device (and re-enable biometric unlock if you want it).

Step 6 — Add your coins

Immediately after restoring, your wallet may appear empty. This is normal — Trust Wallet only shows coins whose networks are "enabled." Tap the filter/gear icon (Manage Crypto / add tokens), enable the networks and tokens you held, and your balances will appear.

What to Do After Restoring

- Re-add any custom networks you had configured manually (e.g., a custom RPC for Binance Smart Chain or others), since these are not automatically restored.
- Enable biometric/PIN unlock again for convenience and security.
- Do a small test transaction on one network to confirm everything is working before moving larger funds.
- Keep your recovery phrase safe offline — do not store it in screenshots, cloud notes, or anywhere online.
